Thanks to Nite Ize for sponsoring this post about bicycle safety for the family.
The days will be getting shorter and once daylight savings happens this year, Oct evening activities will come to a halt. Well no worries you can still grab the kids and put the pedal to the metal while remaining safe and seen with the latest in biking-inspired gadgets from Nite Ize.
“From organizational tools to Fido’s favorite playthings, Nite Ize specializes in creating one-of-a-kind products that solve all of life’s little annoyances and allow people to pursue their passions. Of late their focus has been on the world of cycling and teaching folks how to play it safe and light up the night while enjoying this favorite pastime.”
While I don’t believe you should have your kids out riding bikes in the pitch dark, I am most concerned during dusk, especially when the becomes closer to after work traffic. The entire family was thrilled to review these products to help by bike safety a priority.
There are products for both kids and parents like the Nite Ize’s Helmet Marker Plus. This high powered light attaches securely to the wearer’s helmet through the use of easy to install hook and loop strips. You can see how easy this was to install and how it will make the biker more visible to a driver. I am also going to use this on my dog’s retractable leash for our evening walks.
I equipped the adult bikes with the powerfully bright TwistLit LED Bike Light. It is made to fit all bike models which makes purchasing it a no brainer. It’s designed to curve snugly around the round surfaces on bikes or scooters, providing a steady or flashing glow for added safety in the dark. My kids are thrilled about this.
My husband immediately grabbed the RideLit LED Bike Light. He is not going to use it for biking but for running early morning or evening. It comes on an elastic band that can be attached to someones ankles, bike handlebars, or even the wheel spokes. He will be putting it around his arm for visibility.
We also tried some of the spoke lights and SeeEms which the kids fought over. What kid would not love to have green, blue or pink lights on their spokes. They were easy to attach, hopefully will stay on as they is not fixture to close the gap. The smaller spoke lights or SeeEms, come in sets of two, but were a little hard to turn on and off for my daughter but did have a closing mechanism.
Be sure not to head out on the road this fall without making you, your kids and pets more visible to drivers and other bikers. Consider buying Nite Ize products, other people and cars with thank you!
