Fruit Salsa Recipe: Blueberry Salsa

We updated this Fruit Salsa Recipe: Blueberry Salsa since we first posted in 2010.

It’s blueberry season here in Virginia and for weeks there have been amazing prices on blueberries at the market.  There is nothing better than using fresh blueberries in your dishes.  Check out 25 of the best Blueberry Recipes for inspiration.

Years ago when I made this recipe originally I had picked blueberries two times in one season.  Since the kids have gotten older our visits have not been so frequent.  There is nothing better than fresh salsa, and this time of year, fresh fruit salsa is in order.

This one does not have tomato so it is truly a blueberry dish. It takes no time to make.  In fact, I made a full batch of this salsa recipe and 4 of us finished it off.

It is a taste you have never experienced but wants you going back for more.
I served it with lime tortilla chips and it was just the perfect compliment.  If you wanted to serve it for dessert, you could try serving this with cinnamon tortilla chips.

This could not be easier to make… just chop and dump.  You will have to allow the flavors to sit for a few hours for the best flavor.

The first time I made this recipe I made the mistake of using a potato masher. I quickly realized I was making an ugly mess of skin and mush so I cut them, not an easy task but the hardest part of this recipe.

Just be sure to wash your hands after handling the jalapeno pepper.  You don’t want to cry before you taste it.
