Breakfast Recipes for Back to School

CB-sponsored-post- disclosure

We all can relate to the bittersweet feeling of back to school. As a parent you have a break from your kids and know they will have a structured day and you don’t feel you have to entertain them or have all-day child care ,if you are a working parent. However, Back to school also means the quick paced morning routine that I dread. I give my boys 30 minutes to get up and ready for the bus so we need to get moving. Thanks to the Nestle Meal Solution Products out there I have created some quick and easy meals and breakfast recipes for those hectic mornings.

There is nothing more comforting to me than a bowl of oatmeal, especially during fall when the weather starts to turn cooler. While cooking oatmeal is not a huge task, I thought I would make some crock pot oatmeal the night before so I didn’t have to think of a thing in the morning. All you have to do is open the slow cooker, spoon some hot oatmeal into a bowl and add some yummy condiments like Nestle Coffee-Mate Liquid Coffee Creamers.

Coffee-Mate comes in so many flavors, you can make the same oatmeal each day and the kids will think they are tasting something new. A new twist on the oatmeal variety packs they sell. I personally have been using Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss. I like that is is all natural and has real cream and milk. It does not come in that many flavors but perfect for the traditionalist in your family.

After preparing my crock pot for the overnight oatmeal, PLEASE USE A CROCK POT LINER or a greased dish as it will stick, I also prepared an oatmeal condiments bar the night before. My family loves bananas, blueberries and walnuts but you can use anything from greek yogurt to chocolate chips.

Pretty Fancy for a quick and easy meals for a weekday breakfast, don’t you think?

For the longest time my kids have been asking for “KIDS COFFEE”. I get that they want to look like mom and dad each morning with their mug of morning goodness. Basically it is a drop or two of coffee and chocolate milk. Served in a mug is why we call it Kids’ Coffee.

Thanks to Nestle Nescafe Clasico Instant Coffee and  Carnation Breakfast Essentials Powder Drink Mix this becomes a super nutritious and easy breakfast drink. Filled with vitamins and calcium the Carnation breakfast drinks makes me confident the kids will be leaving the house with the nutrients they need to get them through until lunch time.

With just a few sprinkles of the instant coffee they feel they are drinking Coffee!

For my two kids, I used only one packet of the Nestle Milk Chocolate Carnation breakfast essentials, 1 cup of skim milk and 1/2 teaspoon of the Nescafe Coffee. I think we will try the Chocolate Banana smoothie recipe on the powder drink mixes soon too.
