Mars really does think of everything, especially when it comes to flavors of seasonal M&M’s. Look what I found while shopping at Wal-Mart, Gingerbread flavored M& M’s, exclusively available at Wal-Mart. One of our family’s traditions is to put up a Gingerbread House as a family right after Thanksgiving. I usually just buy the premade kids from the store. However this year, I came up with a few DIY Fun Christmas Crafts and Holiday Decorating IDeas using these Gingerbread flavored M&M’s. Can’t wait for you to tell me which one you like best.
My first DIY Christmas Craft using the Gingerbread M&M’s was influenced by my love of entertaining and always providing a party favor or place setting for themed events. What more says Christmas than an Ornament. I found clear plastic ornaments, these were flat, at our craft store for $1. Thought they would sit on a table setting better but the round ones work great too.
Using a paint pen and permanent markers I placed an initial on the plastic ornament. Once try, fill with the Gingerbread M&M’s and add a cute and festive ribbon that coordinates with your paints or table.
Wouldn’t you love to see this child friendly place card at your christmas dinner table? They would also make great party favors, they are simple enough to make.
While perusing Walmart searching for fun crafts ideas, I thought about our tradition of Gingerbread Cookie decorating and thought I would make a Gingerbread Man Kit to give as neighbor or friend gifts. I found inexpensive craft boxes at Walmart and this started my mission to find gingerbread decorating items.
You can bake your favorite gingerbread cookie recipe or purchase the packs of gingerbread mix at Walmart. Since I did not have a place in my craft kit for the cookies, it really did not matter what size cookie cutter I used.
Fill the craft kit holder with Gingerbread M&M’s they come in such great colors that say Gingerbread house perfectly. I also used, mint candies, white and chocolate chips, raisins (traditional but not a favorite) and of course icing tubes.
**If you have leftover gingerbread cookie dough, I plopped some Gingerbread M&M’s into little balls of dough and baked. Pretty tasty this way.
I made a sheet of labels for the craft boxes. You can grab the free printable for the Gingerbread Kit label.
Put it all together and off it goes to some lucky family that can skip on making gingerbread cookies this year. Well at least this will keep the kids occupied for a few minutes.

You could also use these kits for parties. During this holiday season, host a gingerbread house decorating party with your little ones using classic candies like M&M’s. Use these ten tips to help you create the perfect gingerbread house- Sponsored by Mars M&M’s.
Another quick and easy way to have a festive home is by making these inexpensive DIY Holiday decor Dollar Tree Candle Holders and adding Gingerbread M&M’s as the filler. I used electric candles for this display so I can keep using the display throughout the season and did not have to worry about the candies melting.
