Dog Christmas Decorations with Salt Dough is one of the DIY Pet Projects you need on your list this Holiday. If you are a Pet parent you most likely have a ornament on your tree during the holidays of your beloved pet. Maybe it is a generic Dog or cat ornament, either way they are represented on your tree. This year we made DIY Christmas Ornaments for our pets, using our pets paw prints in some of them. This would especially be cute if you captured them as a puppy and then full grown. No pets in your home, you can do this with 2 legged kids as well.
How to Make Dog Christmas Decorations with Salt Dough
With just 3 simple ingredients you can create salt dough ornaments showcasing your pet’s cute paw. Mix 1 cups salt–old fashioned table salt with 1 cup All Purpose Flour and 1/2 cup water.
Mix well incorporating all the dry ingredients.
Add more flour to get a nice dough consistency and knead for 30 seconds until smooth.
Roll out to about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thickness and then cut circles with a cup or empty tin can.
Carefully place your pets paw onto the circle and press, revealing a paw print.
Using a straw or chopstick, make a hole at the top of the ornament so you can hang it later.
Place on baking sheet with foil sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Bake at 200 Degrees for 2 to 3 hours or until the ornaments are completely dry.
When cooled you can paint it as you desire. We used metallic permanent markers.
Attach a ribbon to hang.
If you have left over dough, use cookie cutters to make more fun ornament shapes. We really loved the dog bone.

Be sure not to allow your pet to eat the dough. Although it is all natural you want to keep your pet on their specific diet. You may want to wipe off your pet’s paw after they stamp the dough incase there is any residual dough. Keeping your pet healthy over the holidays is so important.

How cute! We will have to do some of those. We always fix gift bags for each of our pets and let them crawl in the bag and pull out the presents. So adorable to see all those kitty butts sticking out of the bags
