This Valentine’s Day, treat your loved ones with a fantastic Valentine’s Day breakfast with Double Chocolate Waffles as the headliner. Best part, this recipe starts with pancake mix so preparation is a breeze.
Valentine’s Day happens to fall on a weeknight this year, no worries, you can still surprise your loved ones with a decadent breakfast. Double Chocolate Waffles are made by spicing up plain pancake/waffle mix.
Double Chocolate Waffle Recipe:
For every cup of pancake/waffle mix, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa and 1/3 cup of chocolate chips to the recipe. Proceed per the package directions with additional eggs/oil needed. I needed 2 cups of our mix to make the 4 Belgium waffles pictured below.
If you prefer to make pancakes from scratch but want a special valentine’s Day breakfast, just prepare the dry ingredients the night before and all you have to do is add the chips, wet ingredients and cook. Could not be an easier and quick jazzed up Waffle recipe. Your valentine does not like waffles, no worries, you can make double chocolate pancakes using the same conversion recipe.
Make some extra waffles or pancakes and freeze for a later use. Your family will thank you for this special Valentine’s Day Breakfast dish this Feb 14th and again for dessert one night. I won’t tell them you made them from a mix!
These are so rich you can serve them for dessert with some whipped cream. I had some organic strawberries in the freezer that I defrosted quickly in the microwave and they loved the strawberry juice instead of maple syrup.
Make someone happy any day of the year with these easy chocolate waffles.
