Baked Brie Recipe with Apples

Not only is it extremely creamy but it is topped with an apple and nut topping that when piled onto a cracker it tasted like apple pie on a cracker.  At least that was the feedback Julie gave me from the event.

I know, let’s get to the nitty-gritty and get to the recipe for baked brie.

If you are entertaining, feel free to make the topping earlier in the day and just heat it up when you are preheating the oven.  Otherwise, this baked brie appetizer recipe does come together very quickly and easily.

Prepare your apple mixture as you preheat the oven.  You can slice or dice your apples as we did in these pictures.

I could just eat this mixture and skip the brie, but why would anyone skip the baked brie??

I initially made this dish in a separate pie plate and then transferred it to my serving tray.  In attempts to eliminate one more dish to clean, I used a heatproof plate.

Well, the result is a platter filled with maple syrup covered crackers.

Either way, simply cut your 8 inch round of brie in half lengthwise.   Place the bottom half onto your baking dish.

Can I eat the Rind of the Baked Brie?

Yes, you can eat the rind of Camembert or Brie which gives these cheeses their characteristic bloomy rind. The rind is totally edible and adds texture and flavor to the cheese.

Top with half of the cooked apple mixture.
