Just becuase it is warmer outside does not mean you are free from summer colds. My middle son was off to his first overnight camp and not feeling 100%. He had been given this camp for christmas and was looking forward to going away, as was I:) I immediately went to the pantry and grabbed a Emergen-C box.

Thanks to the great flavors, he has no trouble drinking the entire glass. You can make the flavor as strong or weak depending on the amount of water you add.

Each individual powdered packet makes one drink and you can take up to 2 a day. The fizzy powdered drink mix that contains 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C (1,667% of your recommended daily allowance) along with lots of B vitamins. Although I am not sure about the science of ones body absorbing Vitamin C and whether or not it is all utilized I know it has helped me out of a lot of possible colds in the past.

After 2 days he was feeling better and was able to go off to camp without any phone calls from the nurse at camp. He is back, smelly and sunburn so I think I will give him a glass of Emergen-C today to fight off any germs he may have been exposed to! Ironically, he is headed off to his second overnight camp in two days so his recovery time is limited.

I have 2 remedies for summer colds, a chicken noodle soup from a local Vietnamese restaurant and the flavorful fizzy drink Emergen-C.

Emergen-C products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

While products like Emergen-C and chicken soup can help, there is still no cure for the common cold!

I can not always get to the restaurant but always have a stash of Emergen-C in the drawer. Whenever I am feeling a little under the weather I grab a pouch.

How do you fight off summer colds?

I am not a doctor and do not have any professional advice about Emergen-C this is strictly based off my experience of taking it.

  1. At the first tickle in my throat I run for the echinachea! I only take it then as if you take it too much it will not work! Chicken Soup CURES a cold (IMO)

  2. Summer colds are the worst!! I always make sure to have Emergen-C in my pantry!
