Food Gift Recipes for Holiday Gift Giving

Every year we exchange gifts with our neighbors. I like to make something special for the families to enjoy, especially something a little sweet. Most of these families have children so something with popcorn and chocolate seemed to be a good mix. Half of the battle of creating my neighbor gifts is the packaging. While shopping at Target, I found some adorable Glad storage exclusive holiday prints. Not only were perfect for gift giving but also had yummy recipe for Santa’s Snack Mix which included chocolate and my favorite Holiday Flavored M&M’S®. So it was back home for some recipe testing and hopeful I could get it made and packaged before my kids came home and started into my stash. {C} Target exclusive M&M’S® Holiday recipes are featured on the back of the  Glad Holiday packaging exclusively available at Target (each recipe was designed to fit within the Glad container that features the recipe )

I was able to find all the ingredients at Target so this was an easy trip for me. I noticed that they had a lot more holiday flavors and colors perfect for holiday baking available this year.

  • M&M’S® White Chocolate Peppermint (only at Target)
  • M&M’S® Holiday Dark Mint
  • M&M’S® Holiday Baking Mini’s

So now for the recipes I created for my neighbor gifts, first the Santa’s Snack Mix. I used microwave popcorn just to make it easier, and I needed to bags of the brand I used. caramel popcorn mix

  • While you are cooking the Karo Syrup and butter mixture prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper, for easy clean up.
  • Mix up all the sugary goodness and spread out on to the cookie sheet. Make sure all the liquid is absorbed into your popcorn mix.
  • Bake per the directions and then add sprinkles and your M&M’S® . Drizzle with more chocolate and allow this to cool before breaking it up and placing it into your Glad containers.

I decided to make another holiday treat, so I could use a larger size of the Glad storage has exclusive holiday prints. Chocolate Mint Cake Mix cookies are not only delicious but so easy to make. I made them extra large incase people wanted to make ice cream sandwiches out of them. peppermint M&M Cookies

Aren’t these so festive with the M&M’S® Holiday Dark Mint sprinkled on top. I did not add the candy to the mixture since they were so large.
