Before your kids graduate from High School make sure they create a bucket list of things they want to accomplish before going off to college

Teen girls love gel pens. The only colored pens I had was the pen  that you could change the four colors from the top. I am probably dating myself.

Anyway, gel pens are the rage and we recently came across a new BIC product that even the adults will enjoy using. How many of you have coloring books? Do you ever use a gel pen to color? The new BIC® Gel-ocity® Quick Dry gel pens are a necessary buy while shopping for school supplies.

Since I have a teen daughter, I wanted her opinion of these pens she has much more experience than I!!

I’m turning this blog post over to her to share what she and one of her left-handed friends thought of these pens. Here are her thoughts on these new gel pens.

These pens are colorful and vibrant. They have a .7 inch tip which is, in my opinion, the perfect size tip to take notes with, resulting in the letters being not too thick or skinny. While writing, the pens flow smoothly and the ink is very bold.

There is a grip on the pen to help achieve the perfect penmanship. The most attractive feature on this pen is that the ink is advertised to dry 3x faster* than other pens.

*vs. BIC® Gel-ocity® Original, based on average dry times of blue, black and red. Individual dry times may vary by color.

If you are a quick writer or note taker, this quality may be enticing to you. After a long exam or paper, I find my hand covered in ink or lead from whatever writing utensil I was using. I am right handed, but my left handed friends have it much worse.

They did seem to dry faster than other gel pens I have and the amount of smearing if definitely reduced.

To test the pens my friend and I wrote out goals for our last three years of high school. We created a so you can fill them out yearly or by semester. It’s up to you.

We tried drawing and writing. My friend is left handed and only saw a little smearing on his hand after drawing and writing for a period of time.

Myself, a right handed individual, saw no smearing or traces of the ink on my hand. To conclude, these pens are smooth ballpoint pens and are worth trying out if you have trouble with ink residue on your hands.

  1. I loved having colorful pens in high school! It made taking notes a lot more fun!

  2. I LOVE the idea of a high-school bucket list! When I was planning the various shenanigans I was going to get into, I always had to improvise and come up with something last-minute.

Now, at the beginning of the year, I could write “Paint the drum-major’s car tires pink. Use a wrist-rocket and paint balls during EVERY assembly. Don’t get caught.” and make them goals instead of spur-of-the-moment antics.

  3. I want these! That looks like a fun way to make goals

  9. I NEED to get some of these! I am a ‘leftie’ as well and ink constantly gets all over my hands. I have been searching for pens that don’t smear and get all over me, these sound awesome! The bucket list is such a cute idea also!

  10. That is a very cute idea! Great way to get young adults and children excited about their future–might I suggest renaming it to “bucket list goals?” It’s also important to encourage children to work on building the foundation toward long-term goals as well as short term goals. Just my take on it!
