I am a Busch Gardens Williamsburg Thrill Seeker and was recently invited to the Colossal Curl Media Event. All opinions Expressed are 100% my own. The Colossal Curl is the newest ride at Water Country USA and just opened Memorial Day weekend. This ride not only has the familiar funnel experience but also includes 40 foot wave elements that makes you feel like you are flying in mid air.
Up to 4 family members, 48 inches and up, can ride together on this family ride. There is a 700 lb limit, you all must get on a scale together before getting on. I had to ride backward for my POV video which as you can see from the video below, is not my favorite place to sit. This water ride definitely jolted my body!
Check out my POV riding the new Colossal Curl Water slide at Water Country USA!
During our event 11 fifth-grade students from An Achievable Dream Academy led park guests up Colossal Curl’s 67.5-foot-tall tower, walking up the tower’s 108 steps to take the first official ride on the mega-slide.
Colossal Curl is the only slide in North America to have both a 24-foot funnel feature and a 40-foot wave element on one slide. Lum, who serves on the An Achievable Dream, Inc. board, invited the students to participate in the first ride to get feedback on Colossal Curl’s thrill factor.
Water Country USA offers fun for the entire family with a retro surf theme, 18 attractions featuring 42 water slides, refreshing pools, lazy rivers and kid-friendly play areas. The park also offers resort-style amenities like free lounge chairs and private cabanas.
Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are offering the 2-Park Fun Card to help guests maximize their time at both Williamsburg theme parks. The $97 pass provides unlimited admission to Water Country USA and Busch Gardens® Williamsburg through Sept. 1.
This family thrill ride will be a hit for my kids this summer I am sure. They were so jealous I had the opportunity to go to Water Country USA while they were at school. We plan on going soon and exploring other aspects of the park and give you all tips to surviving a water park!
