During our last trip to Washington DC we explored the great shops and Restaurants of Georgetown however, we did not explore what was waiting for us this trip in Georgetown Harbor. Just a few blocks away from the main Georgetown strip lies the Potomac and this quaint little area know as Georgetown Harbor. Filled with a few shops and restaurants with an amazing view, even n the “tundra of spring”.One of the newest restaurants in this area is the Orange Anchor DC Restaurant. American-fare restaurant with a menu and drinks that boast a nautical theme. The Orange Anchor proudly serves ingredients that are local to the region and are a scratch kitchen, no processed foods here. Taking the farm to table very seriously.
"Orange Anchor is a nautical inspired, casual fine dining restaurant featuring a scratch kitchen and craft bar. It specializes in seasonal American small plates along with featured prime cuts of local game, farm-raised poultry and beef as well as lobster tail and tuna steaks to accompany the hearty, family-style sides. Most ingredients will be sourced from local farmers within a three-hour drive from DC."

You are welcomed to your table with some signature popcorn, old bay and Popcorn a huge hit in my family.
My husband and I enjoyed rum inspired cocktails, their signature drinks. I had the Red Skies and My Husband the Anchor Mule. Both filled with freshly squeezed juices and very refreshing.
For starters we shared a crispy tuna roll that included 5 pieces of perfectly cooked Tuna surrounded by panko crumbs and drizzled with their special sauce.
The entrees are a la carte and they offer many exciting sides for purchase, like gruyere potatoes and lobster mac and cheese. This entrees run from $18 to $38 (two lobster tails).
We tried both that is why they were worth mentioning. The above picture was my 13 year-olds mac and cheese side she ate as an entree.
My husband ordered the pork chop and after 4 days he is still talking about the flavor and taste of his “pork chop”. There is no skimping on portions at the Orange Anchor Restaurant.
I ordered the swordfish entree. It was very flavorful, well cooked and generous portion size. I could have shared this with another small eater. Loved the touch of the grilled lemon which helps the juice come out so much easier.
My kids ordered the burger, crab cake BLT and lobster mac and cheese. All huge portions they could not finish and they are big eaters.
We skipped dessert as my daughter had a mission to try a famous cupcake. Although I was tempted to try either the Stout Brownie with Nutella Ice Cream or Frozen Dark and Stormy Soufflés.
Be sure to check out their entire menu or make a reservation next time you are looking for a waterfront restaurant in Georgetown. It was not too loud, not too big and the food was all very delicious. My kids enjoyed the food but there was not a kids menu so if your kids are picky eaters I would not waste this restaurant on them, get a babysitter and enjoy an evening with your other half. O
