Subscription Boxes seem to be popping up everywhere. If you are not familiar with subscription boxes you pay a nominal fee, from 10 to 50 dollars a month depending on the products and each month you get a box of sample and sometimes full size items. You have no choice usually what you will receive, it is like picking the grab bag at the Dime store when you were little.
I discovered BarkBox through another review blog and decided my princess had to give it a try.
This is the blurb from their site detailing how they work:
“When you sign up for BarkBox, every month you will receive a box in the mail with four or more carefully selected products and presents for your dog – anything from bones and treats to shampoos, leashes and innovative new gadgets!
If your dog is begging for more or you want to gift a favorite item to a friend, we’ll give you exclusive opportunities to order more products at a great rate.”
I have not gotten an email since receiving my Barkbox as to reordering items but I am will update this once I do.
The monthly price changes based on how many months you purchase. You choose the size of your dog as well so there should not be things inappropriate for your dog.
Happy Birthday Chloe your first subscription box!!
We were thrilled with the variety of things in here. Freshening spray was our #1 find as after our dog plays with her friend across the street she is smelly and wet. Not anymore; a little freshening spray/detangler she smells like she was just bathed.
She ate up the Moose antler in about 15 minutes. Chloe has had antlers before and they are indestructible. I decided to email the antler the company directly. They said it was only a Taster, I wondered as it looked like someone sawed right through it. I feel this was not communicated well through the box description card. Oh well I know she likes moose antlers now!
The next item to test for the Flying Fish. The boys were thrilled with the action of this toy. You can shoot it like a sling. Well after a little misuse of the fish by the boys it lost the slinging capacity.
After a few days with sweet Chloe it lost it filling!!
I don’t blame the company for this, this is the usual crime scene with plush toys these days!!
The treats we have not tried yet but love that they are all made in the US. I forgot to mention the toys are also. It is hard to find made in USA anymore on items, and like your kids you want your pets to be safe too.
Another great reason to try this is that 10% of the proceeds to every box sold go to a rescue shelter. They have more info on their giving program on their website.

Overall I thought this was a fun way to introduce toys to our dog. As you can see she often goes through them quickly so I am anxious to find new ones out there. I have already purchased 3 more months as there was a Groupon last week. This is a great present for your 4 legged friend or maybe a Granddog!! The Bark box prices are as low as $17 a month. (the longer your subscription the cheaper price)
