Many people use an air mattress as a temporary sleeping solution, either in their home, or when they are away camping. The problem is that air mattresses often get a reputation for being less than comfortable to sleep on, but is that really the case?
The truth is that many air mattresses can actually be very comfortable to sleep on. As with conventional mattresses, the level of comfort you attain often depends on the product you choose to purchase. In the meantime we are going to give you some tips on how you can make sleeping on an air mattress a more comfortable experience.
Opt for a double if you can
If you only have a single air mattress then it can be really cramped and there is far more chance of whoever is using it rolling off it in the middle of the night. This does not exactly make for a comfortable or a restful night’s sleep. It is far better to opt for a double air mattress which has plenty of room and therefore provides a higher level of comfort.
Make an air mattress seem like a normal bed
If you are using an air mattress as a temporary sleeping solution then it can be tempting to just throw a few sheets over it; you do not feel as though you need to treat as you would a normal bed. That is not the case. The fact is that making up an air mattress, in the same way you would a conventional bed, can greatly increase the comfort levels of the person sleeping on the mattress.
Be careful where you place an air mattress
Where you position an air mattress may not seem at all import6nat but in fact it is. Air mattresses will often move a little during the night. If they are located on a wooden floor this is likely to result in a squeak which can prevent the person who is using the mattress from getting a good night’s sleep. It is always better to make sure that you place an air mattress on a carpet or a rug, to prevent this from happening.
Be careful of cats and dogs
One of the things that you can say for certain about an air bed is that it may leak if it is damaged. The chances of damage occurring rise dramatically when there are pets in the house. Both cats and dogs have claws which can cause serious damage if they come into contact with an air mattress. Any such damage would result in deflation which would definitely cause a loss of comfort.
As you can see, it is possible to sleep comfortably on an airbed if you make sure you take action to preserve that comfort.
