Easy Blueberry Crisp Recipe With a Secret Ingredient

Easy Blueberry Crisp Recipe With a Secret Ingredient

I have been going to the same Blueberry farm since my daughter was in a baby Bjorn, she is now 12 years old. There is something about picking fruit from a bush that makes it so much better. I did think that having 3 grown kids with me would make the process go quicker, but it seems as they get older they have become less interested. I only brought home 5 pounds of blueberries this year so I will have to make a trip out again. I searched for a quick and easy recipe for our first night with our bounty, and found this Easy Blueberry Crisp Recipe that has an ingredient I would have never guessed.

Have you begun to guess what the Secret ingredient is yet? Can you say mayonnaise? I was as skeptical as you might be right now but the mayo actually gives the topping a little tang. I only had light mayonnaise so it may help with calories too. LOL>

This is such an easy Blueberry Crisp recipe you can assemble everything while you’re preheating the oven.

Just pour your freshly washed blueberries in your pan, I chose to make ours in a pie pan.

Mix your toppings in a separate bowl. Pretty basic right? Now it is time to add your secret ingredient, mayo? I mean really who would have thought. Since you can substitute Greek yogurt for mayo I wonder if you can do the same in the recipe. Any thoughts about eliminating the mayo in this dessert?

Cover the blueberries with the topping just like any other fruit crisp recipe and bake.

Summer in a cup! Warm Juicy blueberries with a crunch topping and covered with cool vanilla ice cream.

Feel free to mix up the berries and add different ones or even some fresh summer peaches to this easy crisp recipe.
