What makes a good pen? Gel Pens-Pilot Pen Review

What is it with middle schoolers and their pens? My daughter started middle school this fall and it seems like every birthday we go to she wants to buy them gel pens. I have purchased them for both gifts and for my daughter but not until this week have I tried one…thanks to Pilot Pens for sending me some great samples.

Pilot Pen is launching three new products this Spring as a part of its Fashion Collection that takes writing instruments to the next level, elevating the pen to the level of an office accessory to complete a any spring look. My daughter was practically pulling them out of the package asking me if I was finished reviewing them within minutes of their arrival.

Acroball — Acroball’s debut is nothing short of impressive with details like a spring palette-inspired color block grip layered on a glossy white barrel. Its unique and comfortably textured grip keeps you in style and control. What is Hybrid Ink? The rich vibrancy of gel ink plus the quick-drying, water-resistance of ball point ink designed to glide across the page.

I loved the grip and this would be great for young hands and developing proper pencil grip. Love the spring colors.

G2 Fashion — Making the functional fabulous — America’s #1 selling gel ink pen the G2 by Pilot, now introduces a Fashion Collection boasting a striking barrel design available in a series of vibrant colors. Loved the soft grip on this one too.

Why have I been suffering through cheap Dollar Store pens with the traditional and outdated plastic barrels??? These write so smoothly and so comfortably.

WROTE MY NAME

FriXion Clicker — Pilot is the #1 seller of gel ink pens in America and the newest member to the gel ink line, FriXion, writes incredibly smooth in expressive colors and erases completely with no mess! The new FriXion Clicker combines all these great qualities in a retractable version with an innovative clip click mechanism.

I must say, I can now see why they are so desirable. I have never had a pen that erased like this. We had those ones back in the 80’s but they did not work this great.

I was quite impressed how this pilot pen erased my name without any residual ink or impressions in the paper. No more worrying about doing their homework in pen, you can erase it with ease.
My daughter loved the colors it came in and says they are fun to use. These make great Easter Basket fillers for that teen and tween group!!

What do you look for in a pen??
