This post about Sweet Noodle Kugel is brought to you from Post foods. All the opinions are 100% my own.
Growing up we lived next door to a Jewish family and the mother shared her recipe for Noodle Kugel with my mom and every Easter Brunch I would remember having it part of our brunch table. I have not ever made Noodle Kugel before but when asked to try the new Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Honey Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Vanilla Bunches I thought I could replace the corn flakes in the recipe with the more flavorful cereal.
Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Honey Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Vanilla Bunches feature the crispy whole grain flakes and distinct crunchy granola clusters. The Honey Crunch variety has a touch of honey for sweetness, while the Vanilla Bunches features the dreamy taste of real vanilla. In addition to adding more flavor by changing out the corn flakes we are including more whole grain into this dish. Each serving of Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain provides. 33 grams of whole grain per serving, the new cereal also provides 4 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein.
If you have never made a Noodle Kugel Recipe before, it really is super easy and adjust the ingredients to make it low in fat. Be sure to take out your dairy products an hour before you plan on making this recipe do ensure they are room temperature.
While you are boiling the water for the wide noodles, you can put the dairy and egg mixture together.
Now simply mix all the ingredients together and place in a greased casserole dish.
I chose to top my Noodle Kugel with Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Vanilla Bunches but either flavor would taste good on this Sweet Noodle Kugel.
Bake and allow to slightly cool before serving up a square of this sweet noodle dish.
Of course our family also tried Honey Bunches of Oats Whole Grain Vanilla Bunches with blueberries and milk and really liked the flavor combination.
