Teriyaki Pineapple Turkey Burger Recipe

I love a good Hamburger on occasion, but I try to limit the amount of red meat I feed my family. I love using lean ground chicken or turkey when making chilis, tacos and even hamburgers.

While perusing the coupon section of our Sunday paper a few weekends ago, I found a recipe for Teriyaki Pineapple Turkey Burgers. One complaint my husband has about turkey burgers is the lack of flavor. I have to agree with him about that, so I thought I would give this a chance. My friend often serves Teriyaki chicken sandwiches at BBQ’s so I had to give this a try.

To my surprise, I did not have any teriyaki sauce  in my fridge so I quickly googled a recipe and it is not hard to make. I had all the ingredients at the house. It took about 6 minutes and boom I had teriyaki sauce. Although I am one for  having a bottle of sauce for convenience , I was happy to know what I was putting into the sauce.

I made the patties several hours in advance and just covered them and put them back in the fridge.

These look tasty already just off the grill.

But wait almost forgot the fun ingredient of grilled pineapple. Never thought to grill canned before, worked perfectly.

All stacked up and ready to eat.

Thought I would add a close up

What is you favorite alternative to the traditional Fourth of July Hamburger and Hot Dog BBQ? These would be great for any barbecue you may be hosting but change-up your memorial day menu with these turkey burger recipes.

  3. Those look great. I love grilled pineapple and turkey burgers are such a great alternative to hamburger.

  4. Yum! I love turkey burgers and usually add diced onion and chopped spinach in mine when I make them! I also make several and freeze them after cooking so that I can take a few out and reheat when I’m in a hurry!
