My kids love breakfast sandwiches for breakfast and breakfast sliders are even better. During the summer when they have swim team early in the am or summer lacrosse tournaments kids need all the protein they can consume.
Breakfast sliders are not only easy but a quick way to serve a hungry family a hearty breakfast but great for morning tailgating events too.
I used to make individual eggs, toast the bread, fry up the bacon or sausage for each individual child. Now you can make multiple bacon sausage breakfast sliders in under 20 minutes.
I was amazed when I first saw this on Pinterest and since my kids love bacon we adapted the recipe for us.
These also are great the next day so no worries about leftovers. I imagine you could freeze them individually as well and wrap them in a little paper towel and heat in the microwave as you would store-bought breakfast sandwiches.
Breakfast Slider Recipes can easily be adapted but here is the basics:
- A tube of Pork Sausage, any flavor your family enjoys
- 6 bacon slices (How to cook Bacon in Oven)
- 12 roll packages of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 7 large eggs
- 6 cheese slices, we used sharp cheddar
- two 11 x 7 baking dishes
How many breakfast sliders to make per person?
Depending on how if your guests are big eaters, I would recommend making two sliders per person if you are serving them on a buffet.
If you are serving them alone, three sliders might be the perfect number. You can make more and freeze or bake them as you need them since they only take 15 minutes to heat.
Beat your eggs and place in an 11 x 7 baking dish or double and use 13 x 9 pans. Spread your sausage in similar sized pan and bake as well.
You will get these square baked eggs and sausage perfect for our breakfast sliders. We also baked our bacon in the oven but that takes a little longer to cook so start if first.
What is the best bread for this recipe for breakfast sandwich?
My kids love Hawaiin Rolls. But any slider roll will work.
Cut your Hawaiian rolls in half. I love these Hawaiian rolls in Ham and Cheese sandwiches also. Place the cut rolls onto a cookie sheet.
Now start layering your cooked Sausage.
Follow by your eggs. Don’t worry if they fall apart, you are cutting them into smaller sandwiches anyway.
Don’t go skimply on the cheese. Cheese Slices, you can add as little or as much cheese as you desire.
Top it off and return this to the oven to heat up the rolls and melt the cheese.
Cut them along the lines of the rolls for individual bacon sausage breakfast sliders.
