The Holiday baking season is in full gear at our house. It really starts about Halloween and will not end until Christmas.
This is a happy time for me as I have been coveting dessert recipes all year round that I now have a chance to try. Like most years we are not just baking for parties we are attending, but also for neighbors, friends and those we just want to say thank you.
Today we are baking 2 different recipes using the same Nestle Dulce De Leche Baking Kit found at Walmart in 2013.
I found the Nestle Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Kits in the holiday baking section at our Walmart. If you have never made a cheesecake and feel a little intimidated by them, have no fear with this cheesecake kit. It is super easy to use and as you will see has many more options than a circular cheesecake.
While at Walmart purchasing the Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Kit, be sure to pick up the necessary cream cheese, chocolate chips (if making these recipes) and eggs. Then you are halfway to these amazing cheesecake recipes.
For the Cheesecake bites recipe line a 9 or 8 inch square pan with tin foil or this pan lining paper allowing extra to hang over.
The crust could not be easier, a little melted butter and the crust mix. Press it as evenly as possible in the pan. No worries about having it go up the sides, you actually whether not have it rise to high.
Follow the directions for the filling per the box. Look at this amazing Dulce de Leche color.
Bake per the directions as well, making sure not to over bake. Allow the cheesecake to cool then place in the freezer, ideally overnight. I forgot to take a picture but add the rest of your dulce de leche before you freeze them for an extra layer of goodness. You could also decorate the tops of the chocolate covered treats, if you prefer for more of a look than a flavor affect.
Take the frozen cheesecake out of the pan and cut into 1 inch squares and dip into 12 oz melted chocolate and 1/4 cup shortening. I kept the chocolate warm in a double boiler for easy dipping.
Dressed and ready to bring to my girls coffee this weekend. Just not sure which dish to use. Store them in the freezer until ready to use. These cheesecake bites are the perfect thing to have in your freezer for unexpected events and guests.
So now for the bake it forward part. Everyone thinks of the teachers during the holidays, but what about the office staff that don’t necessarily have the daily contact with your kids, but without them, school would not run so smoothly.
We decided to make Mini cheesecakes for the administrative staff at school. We used cupcake foil cups, about 16 of them for these amazing holiday treats.
Basically, follow the directions on the box of the cheesecake kit, just do everything inside the cupcake cups. For an extra flavor element, we melted some chocolate chips with a little heavy cream and swirled them into the batter.
The dulce de leche was a little sticky and messy for the decorating part, but it all tastes amazing
They are all packaged and ready to be dropped off.
The women were so thankful for thinking of them. They were impressed by how pretty they looked and also do taste as good as they look.
So don’t be afraid of the word cheesecake, try these easy to use kits and not only feed you family, but bake it forward!!
come on over, still have a few in the freezer!! great recipe for surprise guests.
I really want to try those chocolate covered cheesecake bites!!! YUM! #client
They were best out of the freezer. Sinful for sure
A Dulce De Leche cheesecake sounds amazing but then to cover it with chocolate? Irresistible. I hope they were enjoyed by all. #client
