Dog Days of Summer and Your HVAC system

This post about the Dog Days of Summer and Your HVAC System is Brought to you by Sears Home Improvement. All opinions are 100% my own.

Even though kids might be headed back to school, the weather is still soaring in most of the US in August. No one wants to come home from work on a hot 100 degree August Day to find their air conditioning not working. I can remember in our previous home, I had 2 young children, pregnant and our HVAC system decided to die in the heat of the summer.
We were looking for a new home and were trying to hold on to the system instead of replacing it. That was a big mistake. With hot summer days in Virginia, not having a working AC can awful. I learned you need to find a reliable company to do yearly HVAC checks and give advice you can trust about whether to repair or replace your unit.

We replaced all of our HVAC equipment when we moved into our home 10 years ago, and just this summer I realized I have not had them serviced. I will be scheduling Sears Home Improvement to come out to check it in the coming weeks and will report back about our experience.

  4. **knock on wood** we had a few issues in the past with our AC unit but its worked like a dream for the past few year. We do need to look into getting it winterized though that’s for sure.

  5. I think its 6 months ago when last have cleaned our AC, this is a brilliant idea.

  6. We just discovered ours is leaking (again.) I didn’t know that Sears offered this kind of service. Thanks for the tips.

  7. We had our AC break in the middle of Summer a few years ago…it was the worse!!! Now we make sure to get it checked so that doesn’t happen again!

  8. We really need to get our air conditioning system checked and soon! It seems like it has a hard time keeping the house cool on these hot summer days.

  9. This is awesome because last year? Our HVAC system just totally failed. In the summer! That was hard. They really need love, care, and maintenance. It’s important!

  10. This is on my list of things we need to do: have our HVAC serviced and cleaned. Some rooms barely get any air and others get blasted. Not ideal in summer or winter! Great post.
