Easy 30 Minute Granola Recipe

There are several things I have stopped trying to buy at the grocery store, and granola is one of them.  My husband and I eat Greek yogurt and berries most mornings and topping it with granola sweetens it just enough.   Making homemade granola in 30 minutes is by far the healthiest and most economical for us.

At the grocery stores I will find that the ones made with olive oil or non seed oils are very expensive and the flavors are not that great.  In about 30 minutes you can make a batch of granola that will last you a few weeks.

Since we use a certified gluten free oat, our end product is gluten free.

BENEFITS OF MAKING THIS EASY GRANOLA RECIPE

Making homemade granola offers numerous benefits compared to store-bought options, including:

1. Customization

  • Tailored Ingredients: You can choose your favorite nuts, seeds, grains, and dried fruits, catering to personal tastes and dietary preferences.
  • Control Over Sweetness: Adjust the level and type of sweetener (honey, maple syrup, agave, or no sweetener) to suit your health goals.
  • Special Diets: Easily make it gluten-free, vegan, or any other dietary specification.

2. Health Benefits of Homemade granola

  • No Preservatives: Homemade granola eliminates the need for artificial additives or preservatives found in many store-bought versions.
  • Lower Sugar: Store-bought granola is often high in refined sugars. Homemade versions allow you to keep it naturally sweetened.
  • Quality Ingredients: You can choose high-quality, organic, or whole ingredients for added nutritional value.

3. Cost-Effectiveness of making granola at home

  • Bulk Savings: Buying ingredients like oats, nuts, and seeds in bulk is often cheaper than purchasing pre-made granola.
  • Avoid Premium Pricing: Store-bought granola often has a markup due to branding and packaging.

4. Freshness

  • Homemade granola is freshly made and tastes better without the stale flavor some store-bought options develop during storage.  Ours will last for 2 weeks in an airtight container.  We have never had it longer because we eat it up!
