Healthy Holiday Snacks for Kids

Last Friday I hosted 10, 12 year-old girl scouts to work on their Eating for Beauty Cadette Badge. Not really sure what I was thinking when I agreed to this back in September put a little holiday twist to the requirements and have the kids make their own healthy holiday Snacks for Kids. healthy snack ideas

I started our meeting by sending them on a mile walk, really to give me a few more minutes to prepare and to show them how quickly a mile can go if you are will a friend. (or 10 friends). They returned to hydrate with some water then gathered to go over the 5 specific badge topics.

Fortunately, they had just completed a nutrition class at school so I was not throwing all new things at them. These tweens were starving so we held off our scavenger hunt, which ended with making a healthy snack and went straight to the kitchen.

So now the holiday treat part. I staged this as these girls were hosting their own holiday party and needed to make some healthy snacks. The girls were divided into three groups with a different healthy snack. These are great snack ideas to bring to school parties too, maybe not the peanut butter one.

First group prepared these adorable fruit santa snacks.

The second group made these adorable reindeer cheese snacks.

The third group had a little more preparation with this healthy peanut butter dip with cut up fruit and veggies.

I thought they worked great together and made the trays presentable for a party. I think this is just as much of girl scouts as learning how to eat right;) Must be good hostesses too.

As per my fashion, all the girls went home with some party favors complimentary of AVEENO. As much as skin is affected by what you eat, it is important to use the right products as well. Thanks AVEENO for the amazing and generous gift to these girls. They were very appreciative.

After they were fueled with snacks,  I sent them on a scavenger hunt to find the answers to the many topics we covered in a pre snack discussion.

I also saw these Healthy Holiday Snacks On Pinterest and wanted to share them.
