It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right? There is a national day for everything, did you know that July 24th: National Tequila Day! I feel that this is reason to celebrate how about you? Clearly, Americans love tequila enough to designate a National Tequila Day. The U.S. accounts for 76% of all tequila exports worldwide, consuming more than double the amount that Mexico does. I am sharing some facts about tequila today as well as some tasty drinks made with Tequila. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right?
While the Blackberry Bramble is traditionally made with gin, bourbon is often used instead for a deeper flavor. Blue Nectar Reposado is the perfect alternative with its smooth, light oak wood character.
Blackberry Blue Nectar® Bramble
Ingredients:
2 oz. Blue Nectar Reposado
¾ oz. lemon juice
1 tsp. simple syrup
½ oz. blackberry liqueur
3-5 blackberries as garnish
Crushed ice
Place all liquid ingredients into a tumbler filled with crushed ice and stir well. Garnish with blackberries.
Tequila Sunrise Recipe
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger tequila
3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
ice cubes
1/2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger grenadine syrup
1 slice orange, for garnish
1 maraschino cherry for garnish
Directions:
1. Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice. Fill a chilled 12 ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient). Garnish with a slice of orange, and a maraschino cherry.
