I am not much of a fashion guru. In fact, I think I am the opposite. When it comes to fashion, I am all about being comfortable and practical. When the kids were babies, I wanted clothes that were washable and flattering to my changing body.

Now that the kids are older and busier, the clothes I tend to wear when I am with them — especially during vacations — have to be comfortable and flexible for our outdoor activities.

This summer we are headed to a dude ranch in Wyoming, so I decided to update my wardrobe with a few new items. I immediately thought of Orvis and was thrilled with the release of the new Orvis spring line.

If you have never thought of Orvis for more than their fishing supplies, you will be pleasantly surprised if you have any reason to get clothes for the spring or an adventure-filled vacation. Orvis Women’s new spring collection has a variety of clothes that are styled around feminine color palettes, classic silhouettes, and fresh floral prints.

For this review, I ordered items I knew would be great for running the kids around this spring and summer, as well as for our trip to Wyoming. The first item I chose was the Women’s Rainy Bridge Long-Sleeved Shirt. I ordered a medium based on the reviews, but I could have used a small. I will keep the larger size in case I need to layer it on a colder day. I love that it is made of lightweight, quick-dry fabric, and the UPF 30 blocks 97% of the sun’s rays.

 

To complement the shirt, I chose the Orvis Women’s Guide Shorts. I love that you can change the length of these shorts with a simple button loop. I doubt I will be wading in any water, but you never know! They are made out of very comfortable material and are also UPF 50.

The third item to compliment my top was the Orvis Women’s Dri-release Tee-shirt — a great layering shirt that is super comfortable. It even has a longer back that would be great for wearing with leggings, too.
