During the school week, breakfast time is not always a seamless part of the day. In fact, I am not certain if my older children even eat anything despite my continual reminder that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We still pack lunches for 2/3 kids so we plan on packing these 4 Essential items to make up for a missed meal.

  1. Protein– Make sure the kids have a good source of protein in their lunch such as a hard boiled egg or lunch meat to snack on
  2. Water  No one drinks enough water, instead of a sugary drink a bottled water is the best option for kids
  3. Fruit or Vegetable: Kids also don’t always get the right amount of servings of fruits and veggies. Packing their lunch with a variety of chopped veggies and fruit encourage them to chomp away.
  4. Yoplait Yogurt:  Not only are these fridge packs convenient for lunches and quick portable breakfasts, kids receive 20% of their daily calcium in one single serve cup. 4 Essential Items to Pack in Your Kids Lunch Box

Calcium is so important for a child’s development and when they can get it while eating some of their favorite flavor combinations like mixed berry, strawberry peach or vanilla orange cream, there will be no arguments. 4 Essential Items to Pack in Your Kids Lunch Box

Stock your fridge with the 8 packs of Yoplait Original from Walmart and you will be surprised how quickly they disappear. They might be asking for two in their lunches as well to “share with a friend”. Yogurt is a quick and easy addition to anyone’s lunch box, just don’t forget to throw in a spoon and an ice pack to keep them cold.

  1. I’m not packing lunch this year for my son, but I pack him some snacks. I always pack water and yogurt and fruit.

  2. This is such a great reminder to pack a balanced lunch every day! I think the hardest one to incorporate is enough protein. So many things that are easy to pack are full of sugars and carbohydrates. Thank you for your insight!!

  3. My kids love it when I put yoplait in their lunch boxes! It’s their favorite snack and it’s perfect for helping them get their fruit in during lunch time.

  4. My kids love yogurt, I recently just started giving them yogurt with probiotics to keep them from getting as sick as often as they do.

  5. My son loves yoplait. We usually add some granola to it too. But I always know he’ll eat it.

  6. I try my best to pack a balanced lunch for each kid. Yogurt is an excellent choice!
