Move in Day Storage bags – These are highly recommended by most parents. They are big bags that can store many items such as accessories and clothing. We had our original bags all four years for my first child, and just bought a few new ones because the straps broke off.
2. Mattress topper – The residence hall beds are not particularly comfortable. It is quite pricey, but I think it is worth it, especially if your kid can get more than a year’s use of it. There are a lot on the market and we prefer the ones that connect to the mattress and have a removable cover to wash.
3. Air Purifier – An air purifier is a great tool to filter unwanted stuff out of stuffy dorm air—especially since many dorm windows cannot open. This will be beneficial when your college student moves into an apartment too, many of those are gross!!
4. Stroll Organizer – There is not a lot of storage in dorm rooms. Having one of these stroll organizer is perfect and creates more space as well. Perfect to put it in the bathroom or next to your bed.
My daughter also liked this one that has drawers and my youngest son has acquired it for his room at home to store his fly tying equipmennt.
6. Storage bins – The residence hall dorms are small. Your child will have to try to have some sort of organizers to have everything that they want. I think girls have more things to store than boys so these are a must have. These come in a bunch of different colors as well. We all know how much most girls like the be matchy matchy.
