Just because winter is over does not mean you have to pack up your boots, at least not in the UK where ankle boots are taking over the closets and wardrobes well into spring.
However, choosing a pair of boots that are both fashionable and practical, especially for the mom lugging kids around, can be tricky . A pair of well made and flattering ankle boots rarely will keep you in style and due to their versatility, can be paired with a whole host of different outfits from a sharp shift dress or pair of skinny jeans.
However, when spending the money on a pair of ankle boots, practicality to your stage of life is very important too. Go with the lower heal if carrying a toddler in stilletos just wont work.
Since skinny jeans and leggings seem to be a fashion staple, springtime is a great time to show off the great colors of this spring fashion. But what shoe is best to wear with this style? How about British ankle boots?
According to Harper’s Bazarre they also recommend ankle boots with pants. According to an article they suggest going for an ultramodern edge,” try an ankle boot, or booties. Even more popular — a lower cut called the ‘shootie.'”
I personally have never heard of a shootie but that is no surprise considering my fashion sense.
I have an older pair of ankle boots, a little over the ankle, that I often paired with skinning cords as well as leggings this winter when I was looking for a more dressed up look. Ankle boots are replacing stilettos in many closets for many reasons and comfort might be high on that list.
Are you feeling brave this spring? How do you feel about pairing short shorts with ankle boots?
I may be too old to be this brave but not sure I could pull this look off.
Not ready to give up the boots quite yet, and whether you are into the wedge, high heel or zipper look there are still ankle boot choices out there for you.
