Quick TIp — Storing Asparagas

Two years ago I picked up some asparagus plants from the nursery. I am not sure if you knew this but it takes two years to get any produce from them. I was not sure whether or not they would produce anything especially because I just added them to a flower bed.

Well this is what I found after being gone for the weekend. I swear they were supper small and some not even out when I left. The warm weather has helped these grow so quickly.

The best way to keep asparagus fresh if you are not going to use it the same day as you chose to eat it, is cut the bottoms off, if you purchased at the grocery store, and place in a water glass, as if they were flowers,  in the fridge.

I am so thrilled to try our first veggie of the season.

  2. I just had asparagus for the first time this week–the fresh kind from a local farm! So good. Love this tip!
