No Fuss, Super Quick Restaurant Style Salsa Recipe

We don’t need a special holiday to eat Tex Mex in our house. We have Taco Tuesday every week. Ok it may not be on a Tuesday but I make a quick and easy Tex Mex meal every week. After trying El Monterey Breakfast Burritos at realizing they were good quality for a frozen food product, I was intrigued to try the Taquitos. My family had tried real Taquitos while on a cruise and having lunch in Cozumel Mexico, I knew they could not compete with that but I had to give it a try. I also knew you had to compliment the El Monterey Taquitos with the right kind of salsa, so we are sharing our version of a restaurant style salsa that uses canned tomatoes and a blender.

Many salsa recipes require a lot of dicing and chopping and let’s face it, sometimes its easier to buy fresh salsa at the Grocery store. Once you try this recipe, you will definitely find yourself keeping the ingredients on hand for Taco Night.

That is it.

I recommend making this homemade salsa in advance to allow the flavors to meld together. It did taste fine right out of the blender, but I believe it tasted even better the next day.

The night before I was headed out of town, I made a box of the El Monterey Chicken Taquitos for the kids. I served them up with a side of homemade salsa and sour cream if desired.

They ate them up and all agreed these tasted great. I even had a few and really enjoyed them. They are a great item to have on hand for a quick snack or to take to the beach to feed hungry kids in a flash. You won’t want to eat jarred salsa again after trying this  Restaurant Style Salsa Recipe.

  1. This Salsa looks so delicious. We’ve had Mexican food twice in the last week and it makes me want to have it a third night. I’m going to have to make this Salsa real soon.
