What’s Your Wish This Holiday Season?

This post brought to you by UPS. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Close to Home.

Every year we adopt a few children from our church that have been identified by our parish as needing some extra love over the holiday season. They also had a coat drive for a local school. I find this to be such a special time for our family to look through the hundreds of cards displayed after church and deciding on the age we want to shop for this year. I am not sure the kids see the impact our church will have on this population but I find it humbling that families will not only have presents under the tree but staples to fill their cabinets.

Unlike previous years, where the kid had asked for things like Xbox or a new bike, this boy was quite modest and asked for clothes. We are thrilled to see that this little boys wishes will be delivered this year, with some extra age appropriate toys we just had to add into the box. I do hope that this little boy and his family with have a wonderful holiday and have food on the table each day in 2015.
