The holiday season has started, which means a lot more entertaining or reasons to bring a dish to a party. One of the most popular cookies at our cookie exchange are actually a no bake dessert: chocolate cookie dough balls recipe.
Do you all remember eating chocolate chip cookie dough right out of the tube? Well if you love that taste, but don’t want to worry about the uncooked eggs, you have to try this recipe.
Since I originally posted this recipe in 2011, the FDA has warned against eating raw flour, so we have adapted the recipe to cover this as well.

HOW TO COOK FLOUR:
To kill any bacteria that might be lingering in your flour, simply add the flour to a lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Be sure to allow the flour to cool completely before adding to any recipe.
We found a few clumps in our flour so just sift the flour.
I bet you want to lick this !
Can I freeze Cookie Dough balls?
The recipe suggests these chocolate cookie dough balls can be stored in the fridge for 3 days. You can easily make them ahead of time and freeze. They will freeze nicely for up to 3 months.
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE CHOP COOKIE BALLS AHEAD
I rolled each dough ball and placed on a piece of parchment lined baking sheet. I froze them like that for one hour or until firm and them placed in a freezer bag.
They wont stick to one another if they are frozen separately first.
HOW TO DEFROST COOKIE DOUGH BALLS
I took them out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before I was going to coat them as I was not sure if they would defrost and add too much water to the chocolate. You can also freeze them already coated, which is what I did this time around.
How to make a Double Boiler
Don’t have a double boiler, no worries, make your own. Place a glass bowl over a pot filled with water.
HOW TO DIP Chocolate Cookie Truffles
I also found that dipping the balls with a fork allowed for smoother looking product than a spoon.
