Here are some first aid supplies to take on any vacation that we hope you won’t have to use but it does not cost much and you’ll be relieved at 1:00 AM when your child wakes up with a fever or someone falls and scrapes their knee on a hike that you have some of these supplies.  Be sure to enter the $100 Food Lion Gift Card at the bottom this post!

First Aid Supplies To Take On Any Vacation

Being prepared for family travel is a must. Even if you are flying these few items will not take up much space so when you don’t use them you won’t be bummed you packed them in your suitcase.

First Aid Supplies To Take On Any Vacation

What to pack in your travel first aid kit:

  • Bandaids: an obvious choice that we often forget. There are plenty of varieties so consider waterproof ones if you are headed somewhere you will be active in the water. Plus band-aids don’t take up any space. If you doing a lot of walking bandaids will come to the rescue if you get blisters.
  • Triple Antibiotic lotion:  A must to keep even the smallest scrape or cut clean
  • Allergy Medicine:  Just because your allergy season may be over, does not mean your destination won’t have something that triggers your allergies. Also good for any mild irritations from food or bug bites
  • Fever/ Pain Medications:  Whether you take a longer hike than expected or your child comes down with a fever, having a supply of ibuprofen or acetaminophen will be welcome.
  • Essential Oils:  If you use them at home, you might want to pack some lavender to help with sleep or reduce the stress of traveling
  • Suntan lotion: This might be obvious but even if you are headed to a big city, you will be exposed to more sun than you think.
  • Natural Tears: Traveling can dry out your eyes and there is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night with dry eyes. They work great if someone gets sand in their eyes as well

  1. I dont think that I would add anything except where I have a little boy I would put kids Tylenol in it. Ya know just to make sure he is covered to!

  2. I would add alcohol pads and liquid glucose gel in case my sugar gets low since I am a diabetic.

  3. I would prob add more band aides, some wraps possibly for a sprain

  4. It sounds silly but I would add a lollipop or some other type of candy. For little kids especially it can help dry tears and sometimes if you are in pain having something to suck on also helps adults!

  5. I would add things for stomach issues, antacids, pepto bismol, anti-diarrihea medicine.

  6. Peppermint essential oil

  7. Your kit looks pretty good, but I have a lot of pain issues, so I need to bring a small bottle with some of my Rx meds everywhere I go. I also have some severe food allergies, so I need to make sure I always have my kit- an Epi Pen, an inhaler and Benadryl.
Thank you for this chance! I’ll be down in your neck of the woods next month, and this would be a great help! ?

  8. I would add gauze.

  9. I would add some tissues and wipes to this package.

  10. Maybe some Calamine Lotion?

  11. I would add a travel package of tissues & some individually wrapped alcohol wipes.

  12. I would add my current medication list with the dosages of my medications and my primary care doctor’s contact information. Also my medical directive.

  13. I would add Dermoplast spray for minor cuts and burns and for sunburn. It is absolutely amazing for burns.

  14. I would add neosporin

  15. I would add aloe vera to treat burns naturally

  16. I would add Hydrogen Peroxide.

  17. I would add q-tips and tissues.

  18. Maybe natural remedies and sleep medicine/earplugs.

  19. I would add gauze to this first aid kit.

  20. I would put essential oils in here or aloe vera.
