Taking a trip to Walt Disney World a few weekends ago really got my head full of new Mickey Mouse themed food ideas, especially these Mickey Mouse treats, for our Disneyside party.
Our Mickey Mouse themed invitations have been sent and despite the fact that a storm is brewing and the schools took back President’s Day
WE ARE DOING THIS! (this was our theme during our Disney World trip, in the cold rainy weather too)
Mickey Mouse Themed Food and Crafts
On our way out of the Magic Kingdom, we had to stop at the Bakery to use up one of our snack tickets.
I snapped this quick shot of the bakery case and thought I can make these for our Disney Side party. These Mickey Mouse Themed treats are really just chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick.
What you need for these Mickey Mouse Marshmallows on a Stick
This mickey mouse themed food idea is so easy and super fun to make.
- Red and white striped straws (Paper)
- Milk Chocolate Discs
- Red Sanding Sugar
All you need are marshmallows, straws, Disney used plastic swirly ones, I used paper ones I found in dollar section at Target or Michael’s, Milk chocolate discs, red-colored candy discs, red sugar, optional, parchment paper and white M & M’s or other candy.
I recommend assembling all the marshmallows on the stick while you are melting the chocolate. You don’t want your chocolate to get cold, as it will not coat as evenly.
How to Make Mickey on A Stick
- Allow the first chocolate layer to set up. Since we are experiencing cold temps here, this took no time at all.
- Melt your red chocolate discs per the directions and dip about 1/3 of the bottom in red.
- Cover the red chocolate with red sprinkles if using
- Then Attach Mickey’s Buttons.
I told you this was easy.
I thought of adding ears with mini Oreos but we will have enough sweets at our Disney Side Party.
Store in an airtight container, they will stay fresh for a few days.
So what do you think of our version of Mickey on a stick?
