I am a part of PlateFullCoOp and was provided promotional material to conduct this post. All opinions are 100% my own. I realize quesadillas are a quick fix dinner option. All you need is some cheese, tortilla and a pan. That can get a little boring and I was thrilled to come across the new Old El Paso Frozen Entrees. They offer a chicken and a steak Quesadilla.
The other night I had planned on roasting a chicken for dinner, but the kids were complaining they were starving about half way during the cooking time. Instead of having them eat a bunch of snacks that would fill them up for dinner, I pulled out the quesadilla and warmed them in the microwave in 2 minutes. Dinner is served and I have dinner for tomorrow once the chicken is finished roasting!
My kids really enjoyed the steak quesadilla more than the chicken. I tasted both of them and think it was because the chicken version was a little Spicer. Not only are the kids getting the cheese and tortilla filling but also some protein for the meat and a few hidden veggies.
We will also be trying these in the lunch boxes. My kids get tired of the same old sandwiches. If the kids do not have access to a microwave in their lunch room, simply heat the quesadilla before heading for the bus and wrap it in tin foil to stay warm.
I must say I have been pretty impressed with the new Old El Paso Frozen Entrees. While we don’t normally eat a lot of frozen meals these definitely made the taste test for a quick dinner solution.
