There is a friendly competition in our neighborhood each year for the Army Navy Game. As my husband is a Naval Academy Grad we like to adorn our home in Navy and Gold. A little friendly competition is always fun. There is a text chain filled of banter that I had to put on Do Not Disturb as some people are truly passionate about this game. This year as I was feeling the need to bake something, I googled Army Navy Food and not much came up. Thus I decided to make this game day dessert idea.
NO matter the outcome, people will be hungry and beside pulled pork slides, I thought I would make cupcakes for dessert. Pull Apart Cupcakes are a fun and easy way to get your party theme across in a unique way. Making a “N” out of cupcakes that can’t be too hard right?
First I tinted half of the yellow batter blue to make it even more thematic with each bite of the cupcake. (I used boxed cake mix and store bought frosting)
I lined a large plastic tray with blue wrapping paper to show off the yellow N.
Next line your cupcakes in a “N” shape and frost the tops of the cupcakes together.
Be sure and make one extra cupcake with white frosting for the star at the top.
I made some chocolate stars out of yellow chocolate discs.
Write Go Navy Beat Army with the remainder of the the chocolate on top of the wrapping paper.
Now let the Army Navy Game begin and let the best team win. Either way they are the future of our military and we should love and respect the game no matter the winner!
In honor of my husband GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!!
