The gift shops and speciality gift shops always have themed chocolate covered rice krispie treat for sale and I recently saw a few for Easter. When we were making our St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Charm Bars, I made an extra batch of Rice crispie treats to create these fun Easter Rice Krispie Treats.
Make your favorite Rice cereal treat recipe and allow to cool completely. It really is a lot of fun, its easy and saves money from buying one at a store.
Not to mention it is going to be a lot fresher than the ones you buy there.
How to make this Easter Rice Krispie Treat Idea
Use a 3 inch Bunny Cookie Cutter, we had a bunny head cookie cutter buy you could use an Easter Egg Cookie cutter too. Cut out your shape with the cookie cutter out of your Rice Krispies.
Melt your Chocolate discs and allow to cool slightly. We found that if we dipped our shape when the chocolate came out of the microwave, was too warm and made our shape crumble.
Dip both sides and place on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
While the chocolate is still drying, add your Pink Bunny Nose (Candy coated peanuts work great), eyes and ear sprinkles. Easter treats are so fun to make.
When the chocolate is set, melt some chocolate chips in a plastic bag and cut a small piece from the corner and add your mouth accents. Allow to cool.
This is such an easy dessert idea, you can make this themed for any event, just need to change up the cookie cutter.
They would be so perfect placed in a cellophane bag and used as a party favor or Easter Brunch place card. Be sure to check out all the yummy chocolate covered Easter Treats we made last year.
