We have totally updated this post since 2010. Wow has my camera changed but it was fun to remake these Halloween Desserts and give them to my sweet little neighbors.
These Chocolate Covered Oreo Eyeballs were inspired by an older post for these Edible Eyeballs.
What a fun Halloween food to have in bowls around for any Halloween Party. We made them bigger and better this year.
However, since this post was first made you can now just use red sprinkles instead of the gooey red frosting or they sell red cookie frosting that dries quick.

What You need to make Oreo Halloween Desserts
How to Make Chocolate Covered Oreo Eyeballs?
For the most “professional look” I recommend using a mold. I recently purchased this oreo mold–to cover in chocolate which I demonstrated in this post for Teacher gifts. It really takes no time.
To start, simply melt your chocolate and fill the mold about 2/3 filled.
Press the OREO into the mold pressing to cover as much of the cookie as possible.
Then add more melted chocolate to cover the cookie entirely.
Allow the cookies to set completely before trying to remove them.
How to make an OREO look like an eyeball for Halloween
In our original post, we added a colored chocolate disc and added an M& M on top. I added the veins and when they dried placed them in lollipop bags for a great party favor.
This time we used a fun larger candy monster eye.
How to attach the candy eyeball?
To attach the candy eyeball, simply use some leftover melted chocolate and attach it to the smooth side of the cookie.
What can I use to make the Bloddy Veins?
Using the red frosting, make your veins and allow to completely set. What Kind of OREO should I use for these Halloween Dessert Ideas?
Any type will do. In fact, all I had were the Thins I used in a Halloween Bark Recipe and they worked fine.
Too bad the Christmas red velvet Oreos are not out because it would be fun to bite into these Halloween desserts and find red inside!!
